MELPOMENE RAY ALEXANDER is a transgender woman born somewhere South of the Mason-Dixon. Ever since leaving home and shooting-up Vitamin E, some might say the hormones've gotten to her head. Long walks in the dead of night. A strange fascination with Kathleen Hanna. As far as Mel's concerned, that's what she signed up for.
Mel got her BA at Columbia College Chicago and will be pursuing her MFA at the School of the Arts Institute Chicago. She has been published multiple times in Allium, A Journal of Poetry & Prose, and runs the magazine, Fruitbatz, with Aiden Fijal and Danne Wendel.
