MELPOMENE RAY ALEXANDER is a transgender woman born somewhere South of the Mason-Dixon. Ever since leaving home and shooting-up Vitamin E, some might say the hormones've gotten to her head. Long walks in the dead of night. A strange fascination with Brad Pitt. As far as Mel's concerned, that's what she signed up for.
While pursuing her BA at Columbia College Chicago, Mel studied poetry, prose, and script writing. She has been published twice in Allium, A Journal of Poetry & Prose and currently runs the literary magazine, Fruitbatz, with Aiden Fijal and Danne Wendel. She is interested in surreal narratives of resistance, found family, and sexy little queers in ladder-lace boots.
